Will Brownlee is a convert to Islam who goes by @alkansasee on Twitter. On July 30, 2020 I replied to a tweet from Will and he immediately blocked me and made his account private.
Will Brownlee is the son of local Kansas City NPR affiliate KCUR Music critic Bill Brownlee. Will converted to Islam in High School, he attended Shawnee Mission East and wrote for the school publication “The Harbinger” and many of his articles are about Islam.
I first came across Will Brownlee’s Soundcloud profile in 2017. The pictures of Al-Qaeda cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki and the pro-jihad rap lyrics posted to his profile were alarming. You can hear his Islamic rap song in the video above. I forwarded the info to KCUR reporter Laura Ziegler. Laura and I had been in contact since 2015 when Laura commented on our blog asking for an interview.
Well, it turned out that Laura Ziegler knows Will Brownlee as she works at KCUR with Will’s father, the KCUR Music Critic Bill Brownlee, but I had to find that out on my own, Laura Ziegler certainly won’t volunteer any information. Anwar Al-Awlaki served as president of the Colorado State University MSA in the early 1990s, and as chaplain of the George Washington University MSA in 2001. In Washington, DC, he delivered sermons that were attended by two of the 9/11 hijackers and by Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. In 2002 Alwaki fled the U.S. for Yemen, where he developed ties to al Qaeda and reportedly played a role in the Fort Hood massacre of 2009, the failed Christmas Day underwear-bomber plot of 2009, and the attempted Times Square bombing of 2010.
After sharing the info with KCUR’s Laura Ziegler the Soundcloud profile for Will Brownlee was deleted.
Will Brownlee was influenced by the Muslim Students Association of Johnson County Community College as seen in the above screenshots from the JCCC MSA facebook page. JCCC also featured Sheikh Abdullah Bayazid teaching Islam to children as young as 13. Bayazid is an uncle (possibly the father) of Mohamed Loay Bayazid, a founding member of Al-Qaeda. Abdullah Bayazid also teaches Sharia in Kansas City as seen in the video below.

KCUR is hiding information from the public, not just about Will Brownlee, but so many other things. Lying through omission and being used as a propaganda outlet for the Muslim Brotherhood linked Muslim American Society is just a start. I mentioned these issues in a follow up email exchange with Laura from February 6, 2019 How is Will doing?
Dr. Jihad Qaddour and Dr. Sofia Khan visited SMEH for a charity fundraiser in February of 2017. The Overland Park, KS based charity Syria Relief and Development‘s co-founder Dr. Jihad Qaddour is also a leader with MAS Muslim American Society a group known to be affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
In the Facebook post shown below from February 26, 2017, the SME Coalition annual benefit concert raised more than $1100.00 for Syria Relief and Development.

David Muhammad is a member of Al Inshirah Islamic Center in Kansas City. In 2012 Al Inshira held a fundraiser featuring an extremist preacher from New York, Imam Siraj Wahhaj.
In the video below, Kansas Muslim Brotherhood leader Dr. Jihad Qaddour talks about dawah in a lecture he gave to the Muslim community of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He has big plans to convert 100,000 Sioux Falls residents to Islam and a Masjid on every corner.
The video below is a discussion about Dawah by KU Professor Jeffrey Lang and Kansas Muslim American Society leader Hamed Ghazali in 1994. In the video Lang mentions the death penalty for apostates, and admits his affiliations with Tablighi Jamaat and the Muslim Brotherhood aka the MSA Muslim Students Association.
