The Sentinel – The state’s largest Muslim civil rights group hosted an advocacy day at the Kansas Capitol March 13, 2017. The chairman of Council on American-Islamic Relations in Kansas (CAIR),Moussa Elbayoumy, opened the House session with an invocation and recognized CAIR members seated in the gallery.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reported which members of the Kansas House clapped when the Imam was introduced. A quick Google search yields no results of the paper reporting whether Senate and House members clapped for other guests in the past.
In 2007, the FBI named the national Council for American Islamic Relations CAIR organization an unindicted co-conspirator in a Holy Land Foundation prosecution related to financing Hamas. CAIR petitioned to have its name removed from the co-conspirator list in 2009, a request that was denied.

Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh May the peace of God His Mercy and Blessings be with you and Upon You
In the name of God the most gracious, the most merciful,
On this new day, as this assembly begins, we ask you, our God, the creator of heaven and earth and everything in between, to bless this assembly, its members, and the people they represent from every town, every city, and every county, from every faith & creed, every race, and every origin.
Our Almighty creator, at this time in our history, the challenges facing our State, our Nation, and indeed our world are great and many.
We ask you O God, to grant these men and women an abundance of your wisdom and guidance to steer our state into the path of compassion, justice and use of sound judgment to face all these challenges.
O God, you have chosen them, in your wisdom, to be in this position of great responsibility and honor, so please O God, help them with Your guidance, and Your light. Grant them the strength and the will to do what is right to improve the lives and the well-being of ALL the people of this great state and beyond. It is only You we worship and only Your help we seek, to guide us and them, to the straight path.

“THE Straight PATH”
The prayer above sounds nice, and probably what many expected to hear, but portions of the verse that the Imam left out was done so purposely as shown below.
In 2014 Dr. Andrew Bostom wrote about this very sort of coded language in great detail, a portion explaining the “straight path” is below.
consistent with over a millennium of authoritative Muslim exegeses on this verse—about how Muslims and non-Muslims alike are to understand Koran 1:7, the Fatiha’s (sura 1’s) last verse:
…[T]he phrase in the daily prescribed prayers” Guide us to the straight path, to the path of those you have blessed, not of those who incurred [Your] wrath, nor of the misguided (al-Fatiha, 1:5-7.)…mention two groups of people but do not say who they are. The Prophet [Muhammad] interpreted those who incurred God’s wrath as the Jews and the misguided as the Christians.
The Jews, we are told [i.e., in both the Koran, and hadith] killed many of their prophets, and through their character and materialistic tendencies have contributed much to moral corruption, social upheaval and sedition in the world…[T]hey were readily misled and incurred both God’s wrath and ignominy. As for the Christians…over time they succumbed to the influence of those who had already deviated from the chosen path. By the time Christianity came to be accepted as the official religion of the Roman Empire, many Christians had long gone astray and had been deprived of their original scripture…By interpreting the phrase “not of those who incurred [Your] wrath, nor of the misguided” the Prophet identified them and clarified in what way and by what beliefs and deeds a man incurs God’s wrath. This is a warning for the Muslims not to follow in the footsteps of the Jews and Christians.

It should also be pointed out that the Islamic Center of Lawrence raised funds for jihad and creating an Islamic State in Afghanistan. Imam Hamed Ghazali from the Islamic Center of Lawrence, KS and KU Muslim Students Association MSA and Director of GIV Ghazali Islamic Video in Lawrence seen in video below promoting the Muslim Brotherhood ideology.
Hamed Ghazali is chairman of MAS’s Council on Islamic Schools. His work was mentioned explicitly on page 12 of the Muslim Brotherhood’s 1991 Explanatory Memorandum as a key component of the MB’s dawah (outreach) efforts, and Ghazali was listed in the MB telephone directory introduced into evidence during the Holy Land Foundation trial in 2008.
Ghazali’s speech at the 2010 ICNA-MAS convention was cited by the Anti-Defamation League as an example of anti-Semitic incitement, after he claimed “Allah gave us the Jews” as an example of those who “take the wrong path.”
The wrong path is simply a path that does not align with Sharia.

In recent days Arkansas has taken the initiative to stop HAMAS/CAIR. Kansas lawmakers might want to pay attention.
January 17, 2019 the Arkansas state House of Representatives introduced a bill “to encourage law enforcement to suspend contact and outreach with the Council on American-Islamic Relations” (CAIR).
Citing more than 10 examples of CAIR’s connections with terrorist organizations and operatives—including CAIR’s grants from the now defunct Holy Land Foundation, its designation as a terrorist group in the UAE, and the terrorism charges convictions of its former official, Abdurahman Alamoudi—the bill advises the state of Arkansas to follow in the footsteps of the FBI and heed “evidence demonstrating a relationship between CAIR and Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization of the United States Department of State.”
What you read above from the smart folks in Arkansas is what should also happen in Kansas.
