Prominent Kansas Muslim Leader Convicted – Illegally Stored Hazardous Waste

Former Rep. John Conyers, a longtime Michigan Democrat and Ahmed El-Sherif in 2006 – Muslim Brotherhood plants a Mosque at Quantico Marine Corps Base. 

Ahmed El-Sherif at one time was a paid Muslim Prison Chaplain for the US Prison System, but as of July 28, 2018 he was Convicted of Illegally Storing Hazardous Waste.

Several years prior, and I am speculating the year to be around 2010, Ahmed El-Sherif was involved in an accident in the lab which left him temporarily paralyzed. Vern Barnet with CRES in Kansas City posted the following news from Ahmed’s daughter Fatimah El-Sherif to the website.

Dear Friends–

Fatimah called a short while ago from the hospital near Ft Collins. I also spoke with Yolanda. We now know that Ahmed’s incident was caused by exposure to chemicals with which Ahmed was working. His condition has markedly improved, but it may take months of therapy for full recovery
since he was lying on one side for so long before he was discovered and damage occurred. His kidneys are working hard and improving as the chemical is being flushed from his body with hydration. He can speak well. He may be in ICU for several more days, then in a regular room. Fatimah thanks everyone for their continuing  prayers.

Dear Friends–

Ahmed just called. He is making rapid progress, out of the ICU. He walked a bit today. He is looking forward to returning to KC, although just when is not decided, and will undergo physical theapy here. He completed his project before the accident, and the company is giving him additional work and appreciation. Let’s keep praying for his rapid recovery and for him and his family as they move ahead from this very difficult incident.

Dear Friends–

Ahmed and I and two other friends visited Congressman Emanuel Cleaver today for his advice in planning a trip to the Middle East.

Ahmed must wear large shoes because his feet are swollen and we walks with an imbalance, but feeling is returning to the damaged side. He is in good spirits and eager to promote the cause of human understanding and peace.

Fast-forward several years and Ahmed El-Sherif is found guilty of illegally storing radioactive material and costing the US taxpayer more than $500,000 in clean-up costs.

Lab Used Radioactive Material and Solvents July 28, 2018 – A federal judge found Ahmed el-Sherif, the owner, operator, and radiation safety officer for Beta Chem Laboratory in Lenexa, Kansas, guilty of illegally storing hazardous waste in violation of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, announced Acting Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey H. Wood for the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, U.S. Attorney Stephen R. McAllister for the District of Kansas, and Jessica Taylor, Director of the Criminal Investigation Division of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The Honorable Julie A. Robinson issued a written verdict following the trial, which took place in February 2018. El-Sherif wanted, and was permitted, to waive his right to a jury trial and the case was heard by Judge Robinson in what is known as a “bench trial.”

Ahmed has ties to a subversive group known as the Muslim Brotherhood. Recently hearings were held in Washington D.C. concerning declaring the group a Foreign Terrorist Organization. The conviction of Ahmed El-Sherif has nothing to do with the Muslim Brotherhood. I doubt the word Islam was mentioned at the trial unless it was to soft-cuddle the story by pointing to El-Sherif’s interfaith work looking for a lesser sentence.
