MAY 22, 2020 Texas: Muslim attacks Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi, shoots security officer before being shot dead

The man killed in this morning’s shooting at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi has been identified.

NBC News reports that the suspect’s name is Adam Salim Alsahli

FBI Supervisory Senior Resident Agent Leah Greeves said the incident was “terrorism-related” and the alleged shooter is dead.

Greeves added that authorities believe a second potential suspect remains

“We may have a potential second related person of interest at large in the community,” she said.

In a tweet thread Thursday evening, the FBI said it is “not ruling out any possible motives,” and is looking into all leads.

The FBI would like to recognize the bravery and heroism of the NAS personnel who took quick action to prevent the shooter from entering the base and engaged the shooter, potentially saving many innocent lives. (1 of 3) #CorpusNASShooting— FBI Houston (@FBIHouston)

The FBI said Thursday’s active-shooter event happened at about 6:15 a.m. when Alsahli allegedly tried to drive onto the base at the north gate on Ocean Drive, and when a female security officer approached him he shot her in the chest with a handgun.

She was wearing body armor and only had minor injuries.

She was able to get the security barriers up at the gate, and when the suspect got out of his vehicle with a rifle military police shot and killed him.

An eyewitness said the suspect’s body was left on the ground until it could be inspected with a bomb disposal robot.

Since the NAS-CC is federal property the FBI is leading the investigation, and is being assisted by the base, NCIS, CCPD, the Department of Homeland Security and the ATF.

The shooter has been identified as Adam Salim Alsahli. His Arabic-language social media posts show someone who was single mindedly focused on Islam. Every tweet or post was religious. He was a big fan of several Twitter-verified fundamentalist Muslim clerics.

…The attacker reportedly is a devout Muslim who made numerous social media posts about Islam, jihad & martyrdom.

FBI says another suspect who might have been involved with Adam Salim Alsahli – who expressed support for al-Qaeda (AQAP) and Taliban – is still at large.

And this:

SOCMINT investigation reveals there’s a LinkedIn profile by the name of Adam Alsahli with the location of Corpus Christi, Texas which has tagged Saudi Arabia’s Umm al-Qura University as an educational institution for the class of 2017-2022.

The attacker, Adam Alsahli seems to have strong connection to Syria (possibly lived in Damascus). Also demonstrates similar ideology as Pensacola shooter Shamrani (not to mention selecting same target type), though there is no direct evidence that the two events are related.

#CorpusChristi shooter had an extensive network of social media accounts on FB, Twitter, IG, Whatsapp, TG, Snapchat–often holding multiple on the same platform. They were largely filled with support for hardliner clerics, mostly from Saudi Arabia.

The shooting took place just three days after the FBI and AG Barr announced it found an al Qaeda link to the Pensacola Naval Base shooting that took place in Florida in December 2019, where a Saudi Arabian student opened fire, killing three sailors and wounding several others in the name of Islamic jihad.

The suspect, Mohammed Alshamrani, who was also killed at the scene, was a Saudi Arabian national who was undergoing flight training at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. FBI officials say he spent years plotting his attack for Al Qaeda while living in the United States, where he was also attending school.

Authorities say they are actively searching for a co-suspect in Thursday’s terrorist attack.

The suspect, Salim Alsahli is a practicing Muslim man whose educational records trace back to Umm Al- Qura University, which is located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Translated into English, the school attended by the jihadist who opened fire at the Texas naval base is “College of Sharia”, a large public Islamic university.

Sharia is Islamic Law.

Yes, days after Barr praised the Saudi’s.

Not the first time Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi was attacked, via Gunman’s thwarted attempt to storm Corpus Christi naval base was terror-related say FBI, as they now hunt for a SECOND suspect

The station had a nearly identical incident in February 2019 when a man drove a stolen vehicle through a checkpoint at the naval air station before crashing it along Ocean Drive. That suspect was also fatally shot.

In another incident at the base in 2019, a man pleaded guilty to destruction of US government property and possession of a stolen firearm for ramming his truck into a barricade at the Corpus Christi station.

The jihadis Twitter account is still active as of this posting:
