The Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City encouraged members to work with 6 Relief Organizations who were later revealed to be tied to terrorism finance and funding of Jihad.
In January of 2000, the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City (ISGKC) posted a “Message from the President” to their website. The message was signed by ISGKC President Abdul Akram. Mr. Akram has ran for Political Office multiple times in Kansas City and Missouri. 2010 State Auditor Democratic Primary Election Results show he had nearly 30,000 votes.

The 6 “charitable” organizations ISGKC promoted are listed in sequence below as they were busted for terror related activities.
| #1 – BENEVOLENCE INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (BIF) via Discover the Networks | |
In late 1994, Mohammed Jamal Khalifa travelled to the United States to meet with Kansas City resident Mohamed Loay Bayazid, the president of Benevolence at the time. Mohamed Bayazid was “studying engineering at University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1982″ and “In 1985, he decided to join the mujahideen repelling the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.” Mohamed Bayazids’ uncle Adnan Bayazid was a long time leader at the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City who also ran for political office multiple times as recently as 2011 and 2012. Mohamed Loay Bayazid is the son of Abdullah Bayazid. Abdullah Bayazid lives in the Kansas City area and teaches Sharia (Islamic Sacred Law) on both sides to the state line. In one video posted in 2018 at the Islamic Center of Kansas Abdullah says women who don’t wear the hijab are kufar (infidel), along with anyone who is against the sharia punishment of chopping off hands. [Source: Intelwire.com]According to reliable al-Qaeda defector Jamal al-Fadl (see June 1996-April 1997), in late 1993 he meets with a former high-ranking Sudanese government official to discuss buying enriched uranium. Is taken to an anonymous address in Khartoum, Sudan, and shown a two- to three-foot long metal cylinder with South African markings. Intermediaries demand $1.5 million to buy the cylinder which is supposed to contain uranium. Mohammed Loay Bayazid, a founding member of al-Qaeda and also president of the US-based Benevolence International Foundation (BIF) at the time, is brought in to examine the deal. |
#2 – Global Relief Foundation – via IPT The Investigative Project
According to the Department of Treasury press release, the Global Relief Foundation (GRF) has connections to and has provided assistance to Osama Bin Laden, the al Qaeda network and other terrorist groups. Rabih Haddad, a co-founder of GRF, was previously a member of the Makhtab Al-Khidamat, the precursor organization to al Qaeda. GRF has received funding from individuals associated with al Qaeda. GRF officials have had extensive contacts with a close associate of Usama bin Laden, who has been convicted in a U.S. court for his role in the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. GRF has also had dealings with the Taliban. GRF has also received funding from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a Texas-based Islamic charity whose top officials were convicted in 2008 on all counts of providing support to a designated terrorist organization (Hamas).
#3 – US v. Holy Land Foundation via IPT
Former Principal of the Islamic School of Greater Kansas City, Hamed Ghazili’s name is found in the court documents from the Holy Land Foundation trial.
[NDTX] Richardson, Texas-based Muslim charity indicted, along with several of the group’s leaders, for funneling millions of dollars to the terrorist group Hamas. The judge declared a mistrial: The jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on any count with respect to five defendants; with respect to one defendant, Mohammad El-Mezain, the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on count one which charged him with conspiracy to provide material support and resources to Hamas. In the second trial in 2008 jurors found all the defendants guilty on all counts of helping finance terrorism. A fifth circuit judicial panel upheld the convictions against HLF and its senior leaders in December 2011.
#4 – Hope International
HOPE is managed by a Board of Directors. Headquarters moved from Columbia, MO to Dayton, OH in March, 2001 and is run by its Executive Director, Mr. Zuhair El-Shwehdi and a staff of volunteers.
ALLEGED AFFILIATION: Iraqi insurgency DESCRIPTION: El-Shwehdi ran a charity that illegally funneled money to Iraq. He was sentenced to 3 years of probation and $138,000 restitution in Oct. 2007 Established in 1996

#5 – Indian Muslim Relief Committee of ISNA
ISNA Islamic Society of North American is a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood USA.
Watch Mohamed El-Housiny bloody and bandaged below as he engaged Egyptian police in support of HAMAS 2009.
Mahburbur Rahman was listed as the Vice President of ISGKC Executive Committee in 2011. Two weeks after the Benghazi incident that would later be replayed in the movie 13 Hours, Mahbubur posted the ISGKC petition to ban “Free Speech” in America.
#6 – International African Relief Agency (IARA-USA)
Al Qaeda in Missouri -FBI raids Islamic American Relief Agency – IARA edu director Ibrahim Khaleel teaches Islam in public schools
October 24, 2004 The spate of newspaper articles detailing the FBI raids on the Islamic American/Africa Relief Agency do not mention the name of Ibrahim Khaleel, who is the educational director of the IARA. He is also an employee of the Missouri school system. Ibrahim Khaleel was responsible for bringing a program to teach public school teachers about Islam under the guise of learning how to ‘accomodate’ their Muslim students.
Khaleel wrote a long article on the Muslim American Society’s online magazine about the public school Islam program which was entitled :”The Muslim Student in the Public Schools”. The article starts off with words : “Allah has obligated us to spread his words…” see the original story here.
The President of ISGKC, Br. Abdul Ghafoor Akram, announced after the Friday Prayers on August 14, 1998 a decision for building a new mosque in Johnson County, Kansas.

Ahmad Amro who is listed as a contact in the 1998 ISGKC newsletter planning a new Mosque in Johnson County, KS is also detailed in a 1986 Iowa court case.
On November 11, 1986, Ahmed physically assaulted Souad until she was compelled to flee and contact the police. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. The police suggested that Souad find a safe place to stay and she went to a shelter for battered women in Ames. On that same night, Ahmed was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on bail a short time later. The police told Ahmed where his son Mujahid was located. At that time, Ahmed found Mujahid and took custody of him. Souad has not seen her son Mujahid since the night of the assault. Ahmed was later convicted of assault in a jury trial.
Ahmed made airline reservations for Mujahid to fly to Jordan on the same day that he moved to continue the temporary custody hearing. On November 22, within two weeks of the assault on Souad, Ahmed put three-year-old Mujahid on a plane bound for Jordan.
A contempt hearing was held on January 14 and 15, 1988. Ahmed testified he had talked with his father after receiving the dissolution decree. His request that Mujahid be returned to Souad was denied. He believed his father would accept a custody decision by a panel of Islamic scholars. Mr. Jamal Said (HAMAS supporter) an Islamic scholar, testified he had previously talked with Ahmed about custody of Mujahid. He believed if he wrote a letter to Ahmed’s father advising him the three-year-old son should be in the custody of his mother under Islamic law, then Ahmed’s father would comply. The court then continued the contempt hearing two weeks so that the letter could be sent to Ahmed’s father.
Ahmed made arrangements for Mr. Said to render a written opinion to Ahmed’s father. Mr. Said’s letter stated in part:
*138 So I promised them [the court] to write you a letter kindly requesting from you to send the son of Ahmad [sic] Amro to America. And I assure you that the child will not be turned into his mother till she accepts to abide by the Islamic Laws regarding this matter. And the first of these laws is to withdraw this case totally from the American Judicial System, because as it is known according to the Islamic Law, it is not allowed for a Muslim to seek judgment from any Non-Islamic law in cases like this case. And after she withdraws the case, her child will be turned into her, if God wills, through her acceptance to abide by the Islamic Laws before Scholars in the Islmic [sic] Jurisprudence.

The video below that was taped in Ohio 1989 shows Hamed Ghazali, former Principal of the Islamic School of Greater Kansas City interviewing an Afghan mujahideen leader Tamim Al-Adnani. Hamed Ghazali also asks for DONATIONS for JIHAD to be sent to the ISLAMIC CENTER OF LAWRENCE, KS in care of the Afghan Mujahideen.
