The local Kansas City NPR affiliate KCUR interviewed a local Kansas City Islamic Scholar Hamed Ghazali about Islamic Law (Shariah) in 2006. The article focused on Islamic law pertaining to medical treatment for Muslim women. Excerpts from the article are below, the original article is here.

Let me start by saying I agree with Hamed Ghazali, “MANY MUSLIMS DON’T REALLY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE ISLAMIC LAW SAYS……….”

By Kelly Weiss September 30, 2006

Kansas City, MO – Going to the doctor can be a struggle for anyone. But it can be much worse for a Muslim woman who’s afraid of violating Islamic law.

Dr. Mark Schnee: “I walk in there and I try to introduce myself and he basically comes around from the edge of the bed like a rhinoceros to push me out of the door, not even to enter the room.”

Dr. Mark Schnee: “What do I do, what am I supposed to do, I’ve never been told what to do, who to call?”

Schnee says he knew the hospital needed to understand Islam better.

With no legal guidance on the issue Truman Medical Center turned to a Kansas City Islamic scholar and prayer leader Hamed Ghazali. He says often Muslim’s aren’t clear on the (SHARIAH) law.

Hamed Ghazali: “It is very important to educate the Muslim’s themselves. Many of the Muslims don’t really know exactly what the Islamic law says about these things – they are not so evident and known among the average Muslim.”

This month Truman will have the Islamic scholar, Hamed Ghazali, train medical staff about the Quran and health care and he will outline simple and inexpensive fixes hospitals can make.

Hamed Ghazali is a follower and promoter of Sayyid Qutb, and as KCUR.org is an affiliate of NPR, they unknowingly become useful idiots for the Muslim Brotherhood in the article above. Just 3 years earlier, in 2003 NPR reported how Qutb’s writings had influenced “many radical Islamic groups today”

March 6, 2003 – Qutb’s writings would later become the theoretical basis for many radical Islamic groups of today — including al Qaeda. Qutb increasingly saw the redemption of Egypt in the application of Islamic law.

But NPR’s Robert Siegel reports that some of Qutb’s conclusions may have been the result of the clash of two very different cultures. “The way Qutb saw America was sharply at odds with the way Americans saw themselves,” Siegel says.

Hamed Ghazali can be seen in the video montage below praising Sayyid Qutb‘s book Milestones, a book that has been banned in UK prisons.

Breitbart report December 25, 2019 about an interview with a former prisoner that had been interviewed by The Times.

The ex-convict, referred to by the pseudonym “Jack”, said that he witnessed a makeshift Sharia style court in the prison in which two prisoners were found guilty of the “crime” of drinking alcohol, he told British newspaper of record The Times.

Jack said that another inmate imprisoned for murder had shown him a copy of the book ‘Milestones’ by Egyptian Islamic scholar Sayyid Qutb, which the inmate told Jack was banned inside the prison because it was “the inspiration for the 9/11 attacks.”

A 2003 article in the Washington Post outlined Qutb’s views on the west.

Dinesh D’Souza July4, 2003 One of the leading theoreticians of Islamic fundamentalism is the Egyptian writer Sayyid Qutb. Qutb, who has been called “the brains behind bin Laden,” argues that the West is a society based on freedom while the Islamic world is based on virtue. In his books Qutb argues as follows: Look at how badly freedom is used in the West. Look at the pervasive materialism, triviality, vulgarity and sexual promiscuity. Islamic societies may be poor, Qutb says, but we are trying to implement the will of God. Qutb argues that Islamic laws are based on divine law, and God’s law is necessarily higher than any human law. Virtue, Qutb insists, is a higher principle than freedom.

Hamed was the President of the Kansas University Muslim Students Association MSA as well as the national MSA Central Zone Representative.

Hamed Ghazali spent 4 days with Muslim Brotherhood leader Yusuf Al-Qaradawi in 1990. The picture below is from a 1989 Conference in Kansas City where Qaradawi spoke along with HAMAS and other jihadists. Hamed Ghazali actually lists his 4 day rendezvous in his resume as something positive.

1990 Had the honor of being a special companion of Dr. Yousuf Al-Qaradawi for 4 days during his stay in the United States. This gave me an opportunity to discuss with him one-one different aspects related to my interest in the area of the Holy Quran and other areas.

Hamed Ghazali makes videos, including the video below. But these videos were made for a Muslim audience. Select troubling quotes are in the short video below featuring Siraj Wahaj in Kansas City. GIV Ghazali Islamic Video has been located in both Overland Park and Lawrence, KS over the years.

Kansas University Professor Jeffrey Lang is identified below in the Steve Emerson 1994 documentary Jihad in America. Lang listens as Tamim Al-Adnani talks about jihad, and more jihad.

Hamed Ghazali is GIV Ghazali Islamic Video – the GIV in the video below from Steve Emerson’s Documentary Terror Among Us- Jihad in America  carries the GIV logo at the 10 minute point, where Abdullah Azzam, the co-founder of Al-Qaeda speaks. At 14:55 Tamim Al-Adnani speaks about jihad while KU Professor Jeffrey Lange sits against the wall listening.

Steven Emerson with the Investigative Project on Terrorism has been a leading voice alerting the world about Jihad for decades, and he continues to recognize jihadists. His latest piece at IPT from March 28, 2019 here.

Hamed Ghazali and KU Professor Jeffrey Lang in a GIV video below, Lang admits he is MSA/Muslim Brotherhood and Tablighi Jamaat.

The Houston Chronicle published a story by Jayme Fraser in 2014 about Hamed Ghazali and his Islamic Education work. It reads like a fluff piece for Islam, which it is, and select quotes are below.

He (Hamed Ghazali) is also known for his knowledgeable, moderate approach to Islam.

Keyworth said this is particularly important these days, when Islamic schools often face pushback from local communities.

The Katy center faced tension when it moved in after purchasing the land in 2006. A neighbor began hosting pig races after a disagreement with the center escalated, and two large signs still sit against the property line in Katy – a cross and a Star of David.

Ghazali takes a moderate, scholarly approach to his curriculum. He has models and charts explaining his pedagogy meant to develop well-rounded students who are engaged in the community around them.

Hamed Ghazali gives a great explanation of Prophet Mohamed’s migration to Medina, and how Allah prepared him to deal with the Jews.

A longer video of Tamim Al-Adnani talking with Hamed Ghazali of GIV about sharing in Jihad. Hamed Ghazali solicits funds for jihad in this video as well.

Steven Merley with The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch detailed some of the history of the Muslim Brotherhood in America in a 2009 report posted at the Hudson Insitute. The report included Hamed Ghazali, shown in the chart below.

As mentioned previously, Hamed Ghazali is Chairman of the MAS Council of Islamic Schools. MAS The Muslim American Society KC is currently trying to expand in Overland Park, KS. The planning commission is trying hard not to let the topic of the Muslim Brotherhood be spoken about…… the local KC media are complicit in the silence….. See the post here.

Hamed Ghazali has a daughter who is also a KU Professor and a childhood friend of Mohamed Soltan, son of notorious Muslim Brotherhood member Salah Soltan. Post from 2013 here.
